We are pleased to announce several structural and navigation improvements to the ASMC WIS 2.0 Portal. Based on user traffic and testing, these updates are designed to streamline access to our core operational meteorological products and enhance the discoverability of specific satellite feeds.
04 June 2026 — Recent enhancements include a reorganized primary data catalog. Satellite imagery, hotspot reports, and atmospheric dispersion models are now grouped into dedicated sub-pages. This allows researchers to quickly locate specific instrument feeds, such as the SUOMI-NPP and JPSS-1/NOAA-20, without navigating through a dense homepage grid
24 June 2026 — Recent enhancements to the ASMC WIS 2.0 Pilot Portal focus on improved data accessibility, real-time communication, and a streamlined user interface. A comprehensive FAQ guide and self-contained Python script have been published to help users easily subscribe to and automate data downloads via the WMO WIS 2.0 MQTT framework. To keep researchers informed during this pilot phase, a prominent operational status callout has been introduced on the main page to verify that live data streams are broadcasting without interruption, alongside this new chronological updates feed. The overall user experience has been polished through the integration of a native FormSG user feedback form, the standardization of technical terminology across the platform, and a cleaner visual design featuring refined branding and an updated footer.
